Welcome to Dinas Powys Golf Club - in the club there are several sections, the Wayfarers being one of them. The Wayfarers is a society formed for players of handicaps 9.5 to 17.4 & is a means of playing in a league against other clubs in a match-play format.
Each year all clubs wishing to play within the Society are drawn at random into groups of 6-7. All teams within a group play against one another on a home & away basis in ‘Greensome Foursomes’ matches (through May- September), after which we retire to the 19th hole to enjoy a meal & the odd libation with our fellow golfers.
We are always looking for new ‘blood’ within this society, so if your handicap is as above, can give up some time & would like the opportunity to play then do not hesitate in putting your name forward (details of matches will be posted on the Wayfarers board in the club house, on the web-site and in the fixtures book ).
As a club society during the spring/summer months we meet on a Wednesday evening where the tee is booked from 4:00pm to 5:30pm. This is a Stableford competition where Prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, ‘nearest the pin’ and a golf ball raffle are awarded in the club house after play. The entrance fee is £3.00 and as usual, all are welcome. We also play for the Wayfarer of the Year trophy (this is only for those within the 9.5-17.4 handicap bracket) & and have an end of year away-day, this is always an excellent day out with food, drinks, money prizes & many a golfing insult thrown around.
If you need any other information regarding the Wayfarers society please do not hesitate in contacting Stuart Lane (Captain), Rob Hathway (Treasurer) or Dai Gale (Secretary)
